My name is Nick Ferns and I am a doctoral student in the National Centre for Australian Studies at Monash University. My current research examines the influence of American power and ideas on Australian policy in Southeast Asia between 1945-75. I work as a teaching assistant in the History Department at Monash, mainly teaching American History units. I am interested in all areas of the 20th century, especially Australian and American History. I am also an avid sports fan, following the Hawthorn Football Club, Leeds United Football Club and most New York sports teams.
